Laser hair removal is an increasingly popular non-surgical cosmetic procedure. Laser hair removal is a non-invasive, convenient method to reduce hair growth. Laser hair removal is a medical procedure that uses laser light an intense. Pulsating beam of laser light is used to remove unwanted hair. Laser hair removal works by passing a light beam through the skin. The laser light targets dark pigment called melanin in hair. When the light beam hits the hair follicle, the intense heat destroys the hair follicle instantly.

Depending on the area being the Laser Hair Removal treatment process may take several minutes to several hours to complete. The most commonly used lasers utilize a low energy laser light beam. This laser beam passes through the patient’s skin and is attracted to the pigment of the hair. The laser energy passes down the hair shaft and is absorbed by hair follicles that are in the active growth phase, thereby disabling the hair follicle in the deeper layer of the skin. In most cases, minimal pain should be experienced and no anesthesia is required in the laser hair removal treatment.

Unwanted hair is an intractable problem. While there are a number of ways to deal with unwanted hair on a temporary basis, no conventional method promises a permanent end to this problem except laser hair removal treatment.

The Benefits of Laser Hair Removal:

1) Laser hair removal treats larger areas effectively because it disables more than one hair at a time.
2) A non-invasive gentle laser hair removal technique that reduces undesirable hair from most parts of the body.
3) By laser hair removal treatment skin color and complexion will look more uniform.
4) Laser Hair Removal replaces waxing, electrolysis, shaving and bleaching.

Laser hair removal is an ongoing process that requires multiple sessions because it affects only actively growing hair. In addition high laser energy levels are avoided to minimize the risk of injury to the adjacent skin. In most laser treatments, laser hair removal slows hair re-growth, and it takes several treatments to provide an extended hair-free period. Occasionally after laser treatment patients may experience slight redness on the skin or mild swelling around the hairs it would be for 2 to 3 days maximum. Sunscreen is recommended for any area that treated with laser treatment. Patients with darker skin may not respond well to laser hair removal treatments due to inadequate discrepancy between skin and hair colors.
